With a laser appliance Phillip Sadofsky engraves a folder icon on the surface of the compact disc and thereby destroys its usability as a memory storage. The physical procedure leaves a wordless stain that reminds of the term "burning a cd" and in an analog way symbolises the usage of the virtual space.

I like to operate with small interventions and symbols. Living on the internet and producing a real-life-object with an icon (from this virtual world) on it that everybody (living in real-life) can relate to is one of them.
